Guided tours of Centre William Rappard

Centre William Rappard, home of the World Trade Organization, is host to a rich array of works of art that reflect its colourful past and its ongoing activities. Situated in the heart of Geneva, in tranquil parkland overlooking the lake, Centre William Rappard welcomes you to discover its hidden treasures. Guided tours normally take place on the first Friday of every month at 11.00. However, due to renovation work, these tours are currently suspended until further notice.

Built in 1926, Centre William Rappard was the first building in Geneva designed to house an international organization. Over the past 85 years, it has housed at different times the International Labour Office, the Secretariat of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) and, since 1995, the World Trade Organization.

Guided tours last about one hour. To join a tour on one of the scheduled dates (see below), please arrive no later than 10.45. You will be asked to leave your ID card with photo in the Identification Centre, just outside the main entrance. You will be given a badge valid for the guided tour. At 11.00 a guide will meet you in the main entrance. Please note that the visit includes climbing stairs.

How to get to Centre William Rappard

From Cornavin railway station take bus N°1 and get off at the terminus, Jardin Botanique. Alternatively, you can take tram N° 13 or 15 up to Place des Nations and walk down Avenue de la Paix to Centre William Rappard.

There is also a regional train service from Gare Cornavin to Sécheron station, which is a couple of minutes’ walk from Centre William Rappard.

From other points in Geneva: bus N° 11 and N° 28 will take you to Jardin Botanique (opposite the Centre William Rappard). Boat (“mouette”) M4 stops at Perle du Lac, five minutes' walk from Centre William Rappard.
